Baby Dolls….Bow and Arrows….Good times.

For Charleston…August afternoons are typically bru-tal…. Muggy, hot, sweaty, humid, buggy, irritable, mean…. This Mama and Daddy knew how to ease the end of the day with some good yard-play and a splash in the pool.  (I, for one, loved being the excuse you got to hop in in your clothes!!)  Mama, thanks for calling me – as always, it’s fun seeing you as you are ALWAYS up for a laugh…and I love getting to see these guys grow…can’t believe Miss Priss was a newborn last time I saw her.  [Notice the finger bite?  And, one shot reminds me of the cemetery bench scene in Steel Magnolia’s….”Get OFF my bench!”]

Full moon mornings….

This is what I woke up to the other morning…so glad it was this moon…and not the one lying in bed next to me.  Dang…I crack myself up.

Happy Friday, y’all.

A little BAA fun in the (almost) sun!

I met this cute family out at Kiawah a couple of years ago and then again a few months later in Sumter.  We met up this past Saturday morning just escaping a sprinkly sky.  One thing that has been a constant the three different times I’ve gotten to shoot them?  Doggy Dog.  How stinkin’ cute is that little thing?  (Pun probably intended, huh?)  I love when a little something important like that is included in a shoot ….because one day, it will be tucked away in a box and just an embarrassing memory for them….but a lump in the throat for us.

Amy manucy - Adorable!!!!!!

Crazy girls….

I get so tickled with these two…..the typical calmer, older sister – and the cuckoo, silly younger one.  Always nothing but smiles, good manners and fun attitudes.  Great to see you again – hope your first days of school were fabulous!

Joy through Tears….

What a blessing…this little guy was a ray of sunshine for his big ole family this week.

Hay hay hay!

With parents and others in town to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary…..this cute friend asked me to come along for a little bit of family time.  The weather couldn’t have been more pleasant for a normally muggy time of year…thanks for having me out – I enjoyed meeting your people and seeing you guys. Your parents are so young….they must have married when they were two….wow.  Here’s your sneak peek!

No Excuses….

So…my husband and I have a hard time vacationing.  Both being self-employed….there ain’t no ‘paid vacation time’ that we can find anywhere.  Believe me….we’ve looked.  With the past few years’ economic gorge – the thought of a vacation has seemed luxurious.  Plus, it’s hard to get away, plan, do….excuses, excuses….I know.  I now have a new attitude…..because there are no excuses to be made with this crew…and if they can do it – anyone can!  Minus 2 they had their entire family – extended and all – shoved into ONE house….totaling 30-something people.  Whoooh!  Love it.

What a great morning with all of you – can’t recall a single name…I didn’t even knock on my brain’s door over that one….I knew better.  The ‘avian shooting’ demonstration with the patriarch was a highlight, for sure…and yes, as suspected, it made the sneak peek!  Enjoy!

Keep it simple…

Just a boy….in a leftover box….playing.  Keep it simple.  No iPod, no XBox, no fancy trip.  It’s all good.

Sweet little “W”……

It really does seem like yesterday…..that I got to witness this little munchkin come into this world.  We met up again when she was just a few weeks old.  Now – she’s on the move and going to be a big sister!!  I’m so excited for all of you and can’t believe you’re about to take off for an adventure of a life time.  Have a blast and stay in touch with me…..I’d love to see how everyone grows.  Maybe we can have that cup of coffee before you’re gone!
