Look who got married this weekend! I will post more from this stunning bride’s fabulous wedding soon. Until then…
This week definitely goes down as one of my favorites at church…a bunch of smiling children…running, singing, painting and laughing. Fantastic.
Tommy and I first met this sweet couple while hosting a young couples’ group. Everyone, except us, was pretty much baby-free at the time…back when the toothpaste cap and open kitchen cabinets were the height of marital strife. Now, these two are trekking along nicely with three cuties in tow. Thanks for having me along on a little play date…I enjoyed getting to know the different personalities. (And, “T”…I made your teeth show!) I attended a private baptism last week with a sweet little family…and couldn’t have been more impressed with the loud and clear message that was given by the priest. A great reminder that it truly is the responsibility of family, friends, godparents and the church family…to help carry this child. Fantastic! I have two boys and a girl. My sweet girl and I like to paint fingernails, cook in the kitchen and shop for bathing suits. During our bedtime prayers last night, we thanked God for each other…the product-loving, sale-rack clearing, sweet-smelling allies of the house. My boys…love to serve up a little Mama wrestling with a side of potty mouth. Big time. But what I know is…that’s their way of saying they love me…head lock and all. This cute Mama is already getting it too.
This family’s Daddy is a doer…a ‘get it done’ kind of guy. He’s sort of like Fred Sanford meets Ebay Genius…he is a master at finding classic…’things’. More importantly, he is pretty good at creating old-school fun…no water park, no video games…just a hose, two boys and two buckets of water. Awesome. This family called me by way of another great family…but my youngest caught me editing and said, “I know that kid…he’s the one that can whack the baseball!” And then I remembered…we had marveled at his young talent a few weeks earlier at a neighbor’s baseball game. Always a small world. Thanks for having me over, I had a great morning with you guys – and so glad we got Brinkley included! |
