I’ve known this family for a few years…but have only been able to see Mama and the babies for our shoots. Daddy was involved this year…and the first words out of his mouth…”Are those Hushpuppies?” while looking down at my shoes. Hysterical. I haven’t owned a pair of Hushpuppies…since the Lamar Lewis was about the only place you got your ‘Sunday Shoes’ in Athens, GA….if you’re wondering what was on my feet…I proudly wear my 12-year old son’s Clark’s…like the desert boot ones. Hushpuppie Smushpuppie.
I get the giggles from the get-go because dad pulls up and says sarcastically, “Another silky, smooth morning in our household….” Well throw a ball in the water…and run out of rocks…and that ties things up nicely with a bow. I, for one, think we had a great time…because usually whatever it is that stresses parents out at a shoot…turns out to be better material for me. Life is perfection without tears, people. All the time.

Travis, you are a magician. Thank you again. I feel so blessed to have been a part of this special girl’s day. She is my niece and god-daughter…and I love her to the moon and back. She found her perfect match and these two have had more prayers for their marriage…even before they knew each other. Here are a few from their FABULOUS wedding! And Ans…as your wise Daddy has always said, “One of the most important things you can do in life…is marry the right person.” Girl, you crushed it. (Sentimental side note…this dress was my mother’s wedding gown…57 years old…worn by my aunt, my two sisters, my cousin and me…SO SPECIAL!)

Hamlin O'Kelley - Thanks Travis. You even made the dad look presentable
