High Tide and Livin’ the Life….

These guys live around the corner from us and we usually get to see Daddy and Dog…..sometimes Mr. “T” too…..but now there’s a new addition and I was introduced to him yesterday afternoon.  Sweet little fellow will have to just ‘hang on tight’ until he can defend himself from some sweet, but over-zealous, love.  Thanks for having me over for a perfect afternoon of high tide, good temps and some bird feedin’!

Well….a little pinched nose never hurt n’body!

Daddy decided he saw a branch that needed trimming…..and took care of it….right away.  I find that…remarkable.  That NEVER happens around my house.

A little nightly routine of Daddy giving “T” some worms to place in the Blue Jay feeder…..cool!

I wish there was a speech bubble above this baby’s head….I’d love to know what he was thinking.

I’ll let you know when the rest go up….

End of School….the new busiest time of the Year!

My Stalker – Miss Bossy Boots – has been ON MY CASE…….I do realize that my site has gotten a little stale…..but Sista, please – you’ve got children – end of the school year is a R-A-T race.  I’ve been busy with the following work and non-work related matters…..

After going New York City with some friends….I’ve had a little THIS and THAT on my plate with much of it being “Mama” related…

I was fortunate enough to shoot the school pictures for Charleston Baptist Preschool……this is my 3rd year there and it’s gets better every time.   Too STINKIN’ cute…

I have also spent some time up at my favorite place in the whole world – MUSC Children’s Hospital – which is always bitter sweet.  I love it up there but am never called up for happy occasions.  Just remember to hug your babies and love on them often…lots of gloomy days up there for many, many families.

Thanks to my youngest….who is an outdoorsman, to say the least….we have had the pleasure of entertaining a frog, a lizard, a KITTY, several turtles, a skink and some spiders.  “Schoooool’s out – for – Summer!”  Most were let back out into the wild…..except – thanks to Facebook being a complete failure and my children’s tears – we now are trying to figure out a name for this baby kitten – who we just discovered that she’s a he…..a Chelsea/Chaz of sorts.

The Charleston Men’s Choir was performing on Memorial Day at St. Philips’ Church……I didn’t see the performance but got to hear some incredible rehearsals….

After exams, end of the year bowling parties, awards ceremonies, field days and presentations…..I now have a Freshman in High School, a Middle Schooler and a 4th grader.  My three babies had a great year – coming out with accolades such as (and I can brag about them….it’s their efforts that earned these…..believe me – I don’t do homework OR projects)

Most valuable member of the Quiz Bowl Team – Fastest Girl runner – Winner of school Spelling Bee for grade – Principal’s Honor Roll for Year – Fastest Boy runner – Citizenship Award…..we are one proud Mama and Daddy set.

This is what this little guy is usually doing…

…and this is his sister taking advantage of his bait.

Had a playdate tonight with a cute family not too far from here…..will get you a sneaky peaky up later on.  Nighty night, Miss Bossy Boots.

Miss Bossy Boots - aaaahhh so glad I got my fix!! These are so great and it looks like ya’ll have had a wonderful start to the summer. I miss you OXOXOXOXO

The w-e-d-g-i-e is BACK!

Yes…..this is one of my favorite families to shoot.  Cool, calm and collected…..(I can hear Dad snickering thinking ‘that’s not what it felt like on the way out the door to see you!’)  Seriously, great kids: “S”, “O”, “H” and “S” who seem to really enjoy each other…and super laid back Mama and Daddy.  This was my third play date with them over the years and we’ve started a little photo-op tradition….sweet “H” did not disappoint with resurrecting one of my favorite shots of all time…..The WEDGIE!  (And…before I hear any moaning about ‘that’s cruel’ or ‘how can you do that?’….let me just say that – clearly you do not have any boys in your household.  A maneuver like this could almost define the decor of my household….well, that AND nerf darts.)  This time, Daddy was so successful……part of “H”‘s under garments went underground for a little bit.  Sorry….Mom…the laundress.  (I’m so stinkin’ immature that I’m giggling ~ just as much when I write this as I did when I was there!)  Enjoy this little slideshow of our Saturday morning at Hampton Park!

Hello “L” and “S”…..

So I met little Miss “L” back in October of 2010…..and now…she had somebody to introduce me to – Mr. “S”!  “L” showed me her grandmother’s garden filled with blueberries, squash and tomatoes.  She picked a few and put them in her basket….and after we were done with our playdate…..and I mean waaay after she had picked her prized fruit….she promptly took her basket into the sink and washed each and every blueberry.  She proudly came away from her work and offered me one.  I was impressed with her assignment to herself – nearly an hour beforehand – that she focused on and accomplished the minute she had the opportunity!

“L”, I really enjoyed swinging, gardening, climbing trees and playing with your little brother.  I hope he gets used to the idea of seeing me again sometime soon!  Thanks for having me over to play.

I know, I know….I’ve been slack on my posts

So it’s been a while…….I know – believe me…..I’ve heard from my stalkers!  I have a good excuse though!  The dog ate my ….no, I have been involved with a week-long church function, our Tea Room, and it is now over and I am just starting to come up for air.  It’s a fabulous project for St. Philips Church that benefits our Children’s Choirs who go to Europe every 3rd summer to sing and take part in a festival.  It benefits other local out-reach programs such as Water Missions International….etc.  Everything was beautiful – 200+ volunteers enjoying waiting tables, chopping celery or playing with the cash register.  Orchids were throughout the dining room…yummy shrimp salad, okra soup and chicken salad, etc. and I didn’t take ONE picture.  Not one.  Shameful.  The good news is….we were b-u-s-y and it was successful.

I’m off to New York City for a couple of days tomorrow and will have camera in tow.  I was hopeful to catch a shoot or two up there but it’s turning out to be a vacation – which ain’t so bad either.  For now….Happy Birthday to one of the sweetest little munchkins around.  (This is from his 3rd birthday party last year….somebody ready for cake or what?)

My inner adult….

Yes, I am a Children and Wedding Photographer…..yes, this blog is typically G-rated and I certainly intend it to remain that way.  However, about 2 months ago my sense of humor was piqued through a forwarded email including a link to a blog.  THAT blog is NOT G-rated.  But….as much as I could try to deny my funny bone….I really didn’t want to.  The author has this off-centered, colorful and wacky sense of humor that I get…and sometimes live.  She LOVES to drop the F-Bomb and created this blog in order to have “an uncensored space” to do so.  SOOOOO, having that in mind……make your decision now to X out of this or move forward.  Dad, you may want to go grocery shopping; Lyn, you will think this is hysterical; Liz, grab a Depends – you’re going to be wetting yourself; Paul, read on and enjoy your hyena laughs not in the company of small ears; Roz…move along nicely; Suzy, this is right up your alley; John Brunty, you will thoroughly enjoy; Beth, you’re a toss-up whether we’ll get an “out loud” laugh or not…..

Don’t worry, I introduce this for a reason and it will become relevant….eventually.  You can click HERE to get to her blog entry for the prep story….or move on through my pictures and then go back and read.  Either way, I’m sure it’s going to be “you had to be there” – but I was…and it was FUNNY.  So, this blog post of mine may be for the benefit of “Layne and Friends” – aka “The Delivery Crew”.

$5 to anyone who can guess what this is ….?

How about this?

Any clearer now?

SILLY GOOSE!  It’s Tupac….Beyonce’s look alike  brother – Who showed up at my door around dinner time last night!

Knock Knock.....

So now, if you are still with me, you must….if you didn’t before….go HERE and make this circle whole and bring some silly clarity to this sit-chee-ation.

By the way, we decided Tupac deserved an accessory from every stop….so, see if you can find the nice add-on.  He left my house and went on to eat at Santi’s….and got himself a Sombrero.  Nice.

To quote the Bloggess…..”appreciate the hysterical value of a 5 foot metal chicken ringing your doorbell.”  I did.

Sister with a headache from laughing:) - OMG !!!! That was the BEST!!!!! I have not laughed that hard in a long time. Why am I so late responding??? It came in when I was in Costa Rica. I could not pull it up on my phone so I forgot about it until right now. I was about to send you a text about coming for a visit. Call when you can!!! And thanks for the laugh:) Luv ya, Lyn

OOoooohhH….Look who I got to see today!

So…. whenever I shoot a delivery – I do a follow-up session in about 2-3 weeks.  Well, little Miss “L” is 3 weeks old tomorrow and doing great!  Mmmm….so delicious.  Before we get to looking at Miss Priss….there are a couple of things to discuss here – first, could this child’s skin be any prettier?  No bumps, blemishes, or redness.  (Is this a Clearasil commercial?)  Second, please raise your emoticon hand if you looked as pretty as Mama here a couple of weeks after your delivery.  Yeah, no.  I was sporting my husband’s armpit stained undershirts and his boxers…seeing how I couldn’t fit into much else.  I looked…killa.

Check her out.

Chillaxin…

Little “J”, Mr. “B” and Miss “C”

I met these cool little BLUE EYED peeps about this time last year….and, I was fortunate enough to hook up with them again during my visit to PB.   We had ourselves a fun game of tag, unsuccessful leap frog and some serious giggles.  Thanks for calling me again – I love being able to see everyone.  I’ll let you know when the rest go up – for now, a little sneak peek.

Mister “M” and Little Miss “S”….Backyard morning fun!

Let’s just start with these eyes….couldn’t be more drastically different but both are breathtaking!  Mister “M” and my camera had a little thing going as he was diggin’ having his picture taken.  His sister took a little break from the shooting and got busy playing with her Dora jeep and their dog, Max.  This modeling stuff is tough work people!  Thanks for having me over this morning….here’s a quick peek.

Anonymous - love these

Beautiful afternoon with some Furry Friends!

This sweet lady is our nephew’s god-mother and how lucky is he?  She could not be any nicer.  She is as pleasant as they come and I so enjoyed my time with her yesterday.  The doggies were just as fun and I loved getting to know their little personalities.  We met at the most beautiful spot – one of many in Palm Beach…..and it just so happened that a few others had the same idea so we couldn’t let the dogs just “go”.   We had a nice time regardless and the pups did great.

For those who are curious…..Holly and Thistle are American Cockers and Caroline is a King Charles…..I am fascinated by the coloring of the sweet Cockers.

Enjoyed meeting you guys…..thanks for having me out to play.
